Access and Privileges
Access to the information system of the International Catalogue of Heavenly Bodies is available to registered representatives of scientific organizations and the media. The Catalogue serves as an international reference for astronomical nomenclature, with access levels are designed to support both professional research and public engagement.
Priority Access
Priority access is granted to current members of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), including the 82 national representatives from countries associated with the IAU. This provides expedited processing and additional privileges in data submission and verification.
Access Procedure
The International Catalogue of Heavenly Bodies provides different levels of access depending on the user category and intended use of the data. Below is a detailed description of access rights and procedures.

Organizations
Full editorial access — Organizations representing national professional astronomical communities, wishing to contribute to the popularization of international astronomy and supporting the goals of the organization, can obtain direct access to edit data in the consolidated astronomical register on the basis of concluded agreements.

Media & Scientists
Online read-only access — The media and professional scientists whose research is directly related to any branch of astronomy, as well as persons who have made a significant contribution to the development of astronomical research in their country but are not professional astronomers, are entitled to online read-only access to the system.
Representatives of accredited scientific institutions and media outlets may request access by contacting the ICHB.ORG secretariat. Verification of professional status is required.
